KFPE annual conference 2008 Research partnerships with developing and transition countries strive to contribute to sustainable development and to improve the living conditions of the populations in these countries. Implementation of new knowledge and research results into practice or policy or up-scaling of successful research projects therefore lies at the core of such projects and remains a major challenge. The Annual Conference of the KFPE presented case studies from research partnership projects that generated new knowledge and that also demonstrate how results were implemented and applied. Implementation of research results and exchange with various stakeholders was the main focus of the conference. The case studies presented at the conference included direct video connections to partners in developing and transition countries to give them a chance to present their experience and to talk about factors that enable or enhance implementation, or about factors that hinder the application of research results.
