Establishment of a Documentation Centre for a Centre for Science Studies in the South at the University of Cape Town, South Africa

A programme has been initiated to establish a Centre for Science Studies in the South at the University of Cape Town South Africa. It intends to provide an interdisciplinary platform devoted to research and interfaculty coordination activities in Science and Technology Studies (STS). The centre is being supported under an official Agreement of Cooperation in Science & Technology between Switzerland and South Africa.

The establishment of a documentation centre aims at providing an infrastructure to allow research in Science and Technology studies and to connect with other research institutes in this field. The documentation centre will comprise a small library with the most important literature in STS that is not otherwise available in South Africa as well as a database containing the addresses and websites of potential international partners and important online literature.
