Access to care and antiretroviral treatment of HIV/AIDS in Cote d’Ivoire. Case study of equity effectiveness in Abidjan and Bouaké In Côte d'Ivoire the epidemic with VIH/AIDS is generalized and the access to the antiretroviral treatment is a national issue. The medical authorities of Côte d'Ivoire while choosing the exemption from payment of the ARV made equitable access to the antiretroviral treatment a priority. However the diversity of actors in the implementation of national policy, the low rate of access of infected people from all socioeconomic strata to this treatment in a context of political-military crisis and the absence of state in certain areas of the country question about inequality of access to people infected and the logic implemented by the various actors. Among the diverse research activities of the project, a field study was conducted among users of the centres of medical care for PLWHA in Bouake (Solidarity Centre for Social Action) and Abidjan (Ambulatory Care Unit and the Council) to analyze the socioeconomic factors that determine modes of access to care and treatment in HIV / AIDS and logical response of the players. The purpose of this study is to understand variations in access to antiretroviral treatment and the attitudes and perceptions of stakeholders on these inequalities and to contribute to improving equity in access to care.
